Job summary

Alloy Engineering is seeking an Engineering & Quality Manager in Berea, Ohio to lead engineering, quality, welding documentation, and manufacturing support for custom metal fabrication.

The role ensures products meet customer requirements, applicable codes, and company quality systems while driving technical priorities, capability development, and timely issue resolution across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or welding engineering from an accredited program.
• Progressive engineering leadership experience in heavy fabrication is preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality-management systems and MRB/corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team with clear roles, priorities, and accountability.
• Provide oversight for engineering execution across quotations, orders, project execution, manufacturing, inspection, and customer issues.
• Build project-management capability within the engineering team and coordinate with project-management resources.
• Ensure engineering representation in SQDCP, production, RFQ, and planning meetings.
• Develop an engineering skills and capability matrix and plan training and succession.
• Lead quality operations and quality-system execution for Alloy Engineering.
• Establish quality priorities, metrics, and escalation processes; manage NCRs and MRB.
• Coordinate with operations to reduce defects, rework, and cost of quality.
• Oversee ASME-related engineering, code compliance, welding documentation, and audits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, welding engineering, or related technical field
