Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director of Engineering Projects in Norwood, MA to lead and support a portfolio of capital projects, delivering from inception through start-up. The role emphasizes design, construction, commissioning, qualification and validation with a focus on efficient capital delivery.

You will manage a team of Project Engineers, ensure safe and compliant execution, and partner with procurement for contract negotiations while coordinating with end users for

Qualifications

• Education: Degree or relevant experience.
• Experience: ~15+ years in engineering/project delivery.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, GDP).

Responsibilities

• Strategic and tactical leadership of design, construction, commissioning, qualification, validation and readiness workstreams for each assigned project.
• Lead and performance manage Project Engineers.
• Direct dispute resolution through to project close out.
• Drive safe, compliant, on schedule and on budget project execution that delivers to scope commitments.
• Coordinate with procurement to direct bid evaluation and contract awards, and oversee negotiations with design firms, GCies, service providers and oversight of construction management.
• Review construction drawings and specs with business unit reps and regulators.
• Coordinate with end users and operations for timely turnover of space and maintenance/calibration packages.
• Oversee relationships with local municipality authorities for permits and site improvements.
• Coordinate project governance across stakeholders.
