Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Project Manager who is looking for new learning experiences, opportunities for career growth, and a desire to contribute to our clients' success. This position offers the flexibility to work fully remote. Preference will be given to candidates located near a Foth office.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the primary point of contact with the client for project activities.
  2. Work with clients to develop scope, proposals, resolve conflicts, and build the Foth relationship.
  3. Develop and execute projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments.
  4. Manage all project activities in accordance with the schedule and take responsibility for overall execution of work.
  5. Document and execute all changes in scope of project.
  6. Develop new business opportunities through excellent project execution.
  7. Direct and coordinate the engineering design team, subcontractor activities, scope of work, and contract specifications.
  8. Anticipate project staffing needs and provide input to the selection of project team members.
  9. Establish objectives and provide performance feedback for project team members.
  10. Work with procurement resources to solicit, bid, analyze, and award installation services / contracts.
  11. Provide direction related to procurement of parts and equipment and develop or assist with the development of procurement plans when required.
  12. Establish project safety plans and ensure its communication to all employees on the job.
  13. Promote, support, and monitor safety policies of Foth and Foth's clients.
  14. Work closely with construction management resources during installation phase of projects.
  15. Develop or assist with the development of installation, technical check-out, and start-up plans.
  16. Work with, and sometimes act as, the start-up leader on the installation portion of projects; coordinate OEM service representatives and contractors.
  17. Anticipate problems and work with client, engineering, OEMs, subcontractors, and project teams to provide corrective actions.
  18. Work internally and with the client to identify and execute efficiency gains for work processes.
  19. Travel as needed for data gathering, design reviews, installs, start-ups, and troubleshooting (approximately 30% annual average).
Required qualifications and experience within the last 5 years:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Paper Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience within the paper converting industry.
  • 3+ years of project management experience within the paper converting industry utilizing multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Prior experience in various contracting models such as time and materials, lump sum, guaranteed maximum, etc.
  • Prior use of project management tools for schedule and financial tracking.
  • Experience in capital project management.
  • Experience in leading project scope definition efforts.
  • Proficiency with MS Project.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
  • 10+ years of experience within the paper converting Industry.
  • 7+ years of project management experience within the paper converting industry utilizing multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Project Management Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 24 months of start date.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Prior experience in a consulting environment.
  • Prior experience leading proposal generation with or without a request for proposal.
  • Experience using Primavera P6.
The base compensation listed reflects a general range for the position. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, location, responsibility level, and licenses/certifications.
