Foth is currently seeking a Project Manager who is team-focused, innovative, results-oriented, and eager for new learning experiences and career growth. This position offers the flexibility to work fully remote, preferably for candidates near a Foth office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the client for project activities.
- Work with clients to develop scope, proposals, resolve conflicts, and build the Foth relationship.
- Develop and execute projects within budget, schedule, and contractual commitments.
- Manage all project activities in accordance with the schedule and take responsibility for overall execution of work.
- Document and execute all changes in scope of project.
- Develop new business opportunities through excellent project execution.
- Direct and coordinate the engineering design team, subcontractor activities, scope of work, and contract specifications.
- Anticipate project staffing needs and provide input to the selection of project team members.
- Establish objectives and provide performance feedback for project team members.
- Work with procurement resources to solicit, bid, analyze, and award installation services / contracts.
- Provide direction related to procurement of parts and equipment and develop procurement plans as needed.
- Establish project safety plans and ensure communication to all employees on the job.
- Promote, support, and monitor safety policies of Foth and its clients.
- Work closely with construction management during installation phases.
- Develop or assist with installation, technical check-out, and start-up plans.
- Coordinate OEM service representatives and contractors during start-up.
- Anticipate problems and work with clients and teams to provide corrective actions.
- Identify and execute efficiency gains for work processes.
- Travel as needed for data gathering, design reviews, installs, start-ups, and troubleshooting (approx. 30%).
Required qualifications and experience (within the last 5 years):
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Paper Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the paper converting industry.
- 3+ years of project management experience in the paper converting industry, leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Experience with various contracting models (time and materials, lump sum, guaranteed maximum, etc.).
- Experience with project management tools for scheduling and financial tracking.
- Experience in capital project management and scope definition.
- Proficiency with MS Project.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- 10+ years in the paper converting industry.
- 7+ years of project management experience in the industry, leading multi-discipline teams.
- Project Management Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 24 months.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Experience leading proposal generation.
- Experience using Primavera P6.
