Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Pullman, WA is seeking an Engineering Project Manager II to plan, coordinate, and drive engineering projects spanning new product development, automation, and process improvements. You will work closely with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Operations, and Supply Chain to keep initiatives on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and project prioritization.
  • Experience with budgeting, capital and operating expense planning, resource allocation, capacity planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Experience with project scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional engineering projects from concept through implementation and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate project execution.
  • Facilitate project reviews, status updates, and communication across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities and ensure timely implementation of engineering changes.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, and drive resolution plans.
  • Support implementation of manufacturing automation, capital equipment, robotics, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Track project performance metrics and communicate project status, risks, and key decisions to leadership.
  • Promote Agile project management practices and continuous improvement within project teams.
