Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Project Manager I – Engineering for its Rocky Hill, CT location to lead transportation projects through full lifecycle, from scope and proposal development to contract negotiations and project delivery. You will manage budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and client communications while coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of CTDOT policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.
• 2 years task management or Deputy PM experience.
• Experience leading a project team on transportation projects.
• Knowledge of CTDOT policies and procedures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotations and assist in technical proposals and contracts.
• Serve as primary client liaison and manage the project team to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, and production.
• Implement project delivery plan using SDA and lead project management plan execution.
• Coordinate staffing, recruitment, development, and performance reviews.
• Support business development and client relationships for strategic projects.
• Recruitment and retention of staff and other duties as assigned.
