Responsibilities

• Develop project scope, fee quotations, and technical proposals in line with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Serve as the primary client liaison, managing project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Perform technical discipline tasks—analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production—for assigned projects.
• Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA), lead project management plan execution, and mentor team members.
• Coordinate project staffing—recruitment, development, retention, and succession—alongside performance and compensation reviews.
• Assist Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions with business development, building client relationships, and pursuing strategic and mini‑mega projects via HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA).
• Participate in proposal development, interview presentations, and industry/community presentations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of task‑management or Deputy Project Manager experience.
• Winning experience delivering smaller projects on-time, on-budget, with quality, and client satisfaction.
• Leadership of a smaller project or task order with minimal or no sub‑consultants.
• Proficiency with system tools for project management and delivery.
• Experience in applying HNTB’s Sophisticated processes to projects.
• Technical guidance to team and task leads, with partial technical work contributions.

Preferred Credentials

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• AICP certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).

Location & Compensation

Locations: Rocky Hill, CT (Hartford)

The approximate pay range for Rocky Hill, CT is $139,645.93 – $218,420.56. Nationwide pay range is $126,950.84 – $248,205.18. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and physical work location.
