Job summary

Hayward Tyler is seeking a Project Manager to join the Design Value Stream in Rochester Hills, MI. You will be the main customer contact, define contract scope, set milestones, and oversee activities from engineering through shipping for technically challenging products.

You will coordinate with operations, planning, quality, and sales, negotiate changes, and prepare monthly revenue forecasts. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required due to Federal contract requirements.
• BS in Engineering or Project Management or equivalent.
• 2+ years of government project management experience.
• Experience in managing R&D projects for engineered products.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, standards, and specs.
• Travel up to 10% yearly.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project and the Internet.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented and highly motivated.
• Able to facilitate cross-functional distributed project teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary customer contact and ensure satisfaction after contract award.
• Define scope of supply and coordinate deliverables and submittals.
• Set milestones with Engineering Manager and establish high-level priorities.
• Track status through engineering, job creation, procurement, manufacturing, testing and shipping.
• Interface with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Sales, Test and Engineering.
• Negotiate changes to contract including terms, submittals, delivery, and pricing.
• Communicate project requirements and risk mitigation plans; document delays or scope changes.
• Prepare monthly revenue forecast with Design Value Stream Manager.
• Communicate task schedules to project team; advocate resources.
• Foresee problems before they occur.
• Coordinate and chair meetings to ensure planned activity and quality.
• Manage multiple projects with formal planning techniques.
• Maintain contract file per procedures.
• Produce regular status reports on contract cost, delivery, submittals, milestones, and risk.
• Coordinate packaging and shipping; ensure progress payments and final invoices.
• Create and maintain Health of Contract Report; document issues; resolve before closure.
• Develop post-shipment contract review.
