Job summary

Molded Dimensions Group is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to drive new product development and process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You’ll manage design, tooling, validation, and customer approvals from concept to production launch, while leading cross-functional teams to meet schedules and budgets.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of project management experience in custom manufacturing, strong skills in SolidWorks and Excel, and a proven ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong customer relationships.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple new and revised product development projects from customer PO through successful production launch.
• Coordinate design, material selection, tooling, process development, validation, and customer approvals.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Communicate project status and milestones with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
• Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Provide engineering support for existing products and customer requests.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to bring new products to life.As an Engineering Project Manager, you will lead new product development and process improvement initiatives while serving as a key technical resource throughout the organization.Project Management & New Product DevelopmentLead multiple new and revised product development projects from customer purchase order through successful production launch.Coordinate activities related to design, material selection, tooling, process development, validation, and customer approval.Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.Communicate project status and key milestones with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Identify potential risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing SupportPartner with operations, quality, maintenance, and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.Support troubleshooting efforts involving molds, equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing methods.Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and collaborate on cost reduction initiatives.Analyze data and implement process improvements that enhance overall operational performance.Evaluate, source, and implement new equipment and technologies to support growth and continuous improvement.Technical LeadershipProvide engineering support for existing products, special projects, and customer requests.Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T requirements.Assist with quality planning, validation activities, and customer-driven engineering changes.Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a custom manufacturing environment.Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong customer relationships.Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience sourcing, specifying, and implementing manufacturing equipment.Knowledge of automated vision inspection systems.Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and internal auditing.Knowledge of:What Success Looks LikeThe ideal candidate is:A proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges head-on.Comfortable working with everyone from production team members to executive leadership and customers.Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.Adaptable and capable of balancing planned project work with unexpected priorities.Passionate about continuous improvement and finding better ways to solve problems.The MD DifferenceAt Molded Dimensions Group, our employees are our greatest asset.
