Job summary

Molded Dimensions Group, based in Port Washington, Wisconsin, is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead new product development and process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to bring new products from concept to production, overseeing design, tooling, validation, and manufacturing readiness while providing technical leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple new and revised product development projects from customer purchase order through production launch.
• Coordinate design, material selection, tooling, process development, validation, and customer approval.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Communicate project status with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
• Support manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Provide engineering support for existing products and special projects.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T requirements; assist with quality planning and changes.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality systems.

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will lead new product development and process improvement initiatives while serving as a key technical resource throughout the organization.

Project Management & New Product Development

• Lead multiple new and revised product development projects from customer purchase order through successful production launch.
• Coordinate activities related to design, material selection, tooling, process development, validation, and customer approval.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
• Communicate project status and key milestones with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.

Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Support

• Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.
• Support troubleshooting efforts involving molds, equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing methods.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and collaborate on cost reduction initiatives.
• Analyze data and implement process improvements that enhance overall operational performance.
• Evaluate, source, and implement new equipment and technologies to support growth and continuous improvement.

Technical Leadership

• Provide engineering support for existing products, special projects, and customer requests.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T requirements.
• Assist with quality planning, validation activities, and customer-driven engineering changes.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience sourcing, specifying, and implementing manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of automated vision inspection systems.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and internal auditing.
• Knowledge of:
  • Mold construction
  • Machining and metal fabrication processes
  • Inspection and measurement techniques
  • GD&T
  • AIAG APQP methodology
  • Statistical analysis and process capability
  • Rubber injection molding
  • Urethane casting processes
