Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Engineering Project Manager -- Industrial & Capital Projects in Naperville, IL. Lead complex capital equipment and industrial infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning, guiding cross-functional teams and engaging on-site activities.

You will manage scope, schedules, budgets, and risk, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with clients and suppliers to achieve objectives. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • PMP certification or formal project management training.
  • Experience managing industrial and capital projects.
  • Field experience supporting installation, construction, commissioning, or startup activities.
  • Experience leading project teams and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution capabilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Experience developing project management standards and mentoring junior team members.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple industrial and capital projects from initial concept through startup and commissioning.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, construction, contractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project success.
  • Provide leadership to project teams and mentor engineers and developing project managers.
  • Support design reviews, equipment selection, procurement activities, and technical decision-making.
  • Conduct site visits and oversee field execution, installation activities, and project milestones.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, safety, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Assist with project estimating, capital planning, and business growth initiatives.
  • Establish and refine project management processes, methodologies, and best practices.

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of industrial and capital projects involving engineering design, equipment implementation, facility improvements, and process optimization initiatives. Compensation Range:

$90,000 - $130,000
