Job summary

Curtiss-Wright is seeking an Engineering Project Manager for the Target Rock team in East Farmingdale, NY. You will lead complex engineering projects from conception to completion, combining technical depth with financial acumen and strong leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5–7 years in engineering project management or as an engineering lead. A Master’s degree or MBA and/or PMP certification are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or as an Engineering Lead.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or MBA and/or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience in engineering development of mechanical systems and the transition to manufacturing/production.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes project timelines and budgets, manages team members, and ensures projects stay within the allocated budget and timeline.
  • Create, maintain, and provide input status on various project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review contracts/purchase orders and change order/amendments for accuracy and completeness in preparation for project launch.
  • Maintain backlog or other tracking reports to keep current project progress and estimated completion / shipment dates.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of engineering projects from conceptualization to completion and project plans, including resources, timeline and budget.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards.
  • Create, monitor and track project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate and direct engineering personnel and test facility activities.
  • Manage project resources and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Track project performance and make necessary adjustments/corrections.
  • Prepare and present reports on project progress.
  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies, resolving issues.

Engineering Project Manager

We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to join our Target Rock team! As EPM you will ensure complex projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines technical knowledge and financial acumen with leadership and organizational skills to manage projects from conception to completion. You will bring a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Your Challenge

What You Bring
  • U.S. Citizen
  • 5 - 7 years (minimum) experience in Engineering Project Management or as an Engineering Lead
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or Business (MBA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Experience in engineering development of mechanical systems and the transition to manufacturing/production
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (soft skills, business acumen, building teams, building customer relationships, presentation & decision making skills)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems
  • Project engineering management including planning, design management, and product verification
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Microsoft Office Skills including Microsoft Project Sales Order, Shop Orders, and Drawing reading capability
  • Knowledge of material specifications, bills of materials, manufacturing, and inspection techniques
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and project budgeting
  • Proficiency in project management software tools
  • Prior experience with ORACLE ERP desirable #LI-NK1
