Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking a Project Management and Engineering Leader in Covington, GA. You will plan, lead, and deliver a portfolio of CAPEX and process-improvement projects, from concept to commissioning and handover to operations.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering and project management within manufacturing, with strong Lean/Six Sigma, budget control, and cross-functional leadership. Domestic travel up to 25% is expected; competitive benefits start day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years engineering and project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CAPEX project management from justification through startup.
• Lean / Six Sigma process improvement experience.
• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and design.
• PM certification (PMP) or Lean/Six Sigma preferred.
• MS Project scheduling; SAP familiarity preferred.
• Plastics/polymer compounding knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital, engineering, and process-improvement projects from initiation through closeout.
• Develop integrated project plans, Gantt schedules, milestones, and critical-path tracking.
• Establish governance with charters, RACI, stage-gate reviews, and status reporting.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources across engineering, maintenance, production, quality, procurement, EHS, and contractors.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, variance, and change orders; control scope creep.
• Identify and mitigate risks; escalate with clear options and recommendations.
• Drive on-time, on-budget delivery through commissioning and handover to operations.
