Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division seeks a Project Estimator to work onsite at the Fibrebond campus in Minden, LA. Responsibilities include analyzing blueprints, specs, and proposals to prepare material, labor, and subcontractor estimates for projects.

The role supports competitive quoting, accurate cost accounting, and traceable estimates, with a salary range of $56,000–$83,000 per year. Relocation is not offered, and residency within 60 miles of Minden is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and three years of applicable experience in project estimation/pricing.
• Must be able to read blueprints / drawings with the ability to analyze detailed specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide estimates to enable the company to quote in a timely and competitive manner.
• Review project specification data to determine material and labor requirements, and to ensure that all required information for calculated cost is included.
• Analyze specifications, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculate production costs using material pricing schedules and historical data.
• Obtain cost data and product information from vendors and subcontractors.
• Consult with customers, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Confer with employees in other departments such as production, engineering, project management and bill of materials for exchange of technical information.
• Accountable for estimates of predicted material, labor and subcontractor costs.
• Maintain records of estimates in order to ensure traceability and that they may be readily retrievable.
• Analyze the performance of all Request for Quote pricing to job cost for any trends that have a negative impact on profitability.
