Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager to lead complex software projects, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with business goals. You will guide the project lifecycle, define scope, schedule, and resource needs, and implement agile practices across teams.

You will work with robotics and AI/ML domains, coordinate with cross-functional teams, manage risks, and report status to executives.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in software development or tech lead roles.
• At least 3 years in project management: scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, critical path.
• Experience with Robotics or AI/ML software is a plus.
• Proven ability to work across groups and drive issue resolution.
• Hands-on Jira experience in a product development environment (robotics preferred).
• Proficient in Agile and Scrum practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving and planning/scheduling skills.

Role/Responsibilities

Lead and manage the project team throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.

Implement agile methodology to drive project execution and delivery.

Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project completion.

Manage project documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management process.

Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business goals and objectives.

As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop end-to-end integrated plan, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, ability to influence and negotiate, analytical skills and leadership are essential for success in this role. The individual must demonstrate technical leadership to:

• Drive execution of projects
• Lead cross functional meetings
• Lead milestone reviews
• Present project status to the executive team..

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years of experience with 4-6 years industry experience as a software developer or technical lead is required
• 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Knowledge in Robotics, AI/ML SW development is a plus
• Good track record of working effectively across different groups in the organization
• Hands-on experience with Program management tools like Jira for managing bugs and resolution. Must have worked in product development environment (robotic preferred) where they drive issues resolution.

• In-depth knowledge and experience in agile methodology and its application in project management.

• Excellent problem-solving skills to address project challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software for project planning, tracking, and reporting.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: 87,000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: 172,000 per year

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
