Job summary

The U.S. Forest Service's Research Station seeks a Station Engineer to lead the engineering program, directing policy and coordinating a broad range of facilities design, construction, and maintenance at the station.

The role requires program management, cross‑agency collaboration, and oversight of water, sewage, and solid waste systems, with supervisory duties and COR responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities.
• Ability to coordinate with scientists, program managers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provides program management and expert consultation on planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities.
• Coordinates efforts across programs and with universities and Federal/state agencies.
• Maintains and operates all Station facilities safely and efficiently.
• Provides engineering expertise to meet current regulations for water, sewage, and solid waste systems.
• Manages budgets for multiple work plans and projects.
• Coordinates transportation needs, land line location services, and other facility services on research areas.
• Serves as COR ensuring adherence to plans and specifications.
• Performs supervisory duties at least 25% of the time.
