Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. seeks an Engineering Inside Sales Tech to provide engineering print and documentation support to the sourcing and purchasing team. Coordinate reverse engineering projects with customers, OEMs, and manufacturers as needed.

Work with OEM functions to ensure capability and communicate differences to involved parties. The role requires a bachelor's degree in business or related field, 5+ years in design or engineering with fasteners knowledge, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in design or application engineering or technical experience with production fasteners and OEM items.
• Knowledge of fasteners and bolted joint design.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to document process flow and report improvements.

Responsibilities

• Review customer part-to-print to ensure alignment with engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with outside sales and OEM teams on prints and deviations.
• Engage with OEM Sourcing to review capability and specifications.
• Reconcile customer design print differences with suppliers and internal teams.
• Assist sourcing to obtain approvals on supplier prints.
• Review customer applications against design print and specs.
• Document MIR information per meetings and agreements.
• Participate in part review meetings with sourcing, purchasing and QC.
• Collaborate with AIS quality on print readiness and reviews.
• Support MSC culture and participate in special projects as needed.
