Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a cost-focused engineer to prepare and coordinate program plans and schedules. You will analyze costs, budgets and manpower while supporting negotiations with customers and ensuring resource efficiency.

The role leads monthly overhead deep dives, develops EACs and annual budgets, and partners with ET&D sub-divisions to implement cost-saving opportunities. A Bachelor’s or higher degree with relevant exempt experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's or equivalent with extensive experience in cost analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control and program analysis is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and coordinates plans and schedules for programs.
• Analyzes costs, budgets and manpower requirements across departments.
• Leads overhead cost reviews and develops corrective actions as needed.
• Supports negotiations with customers and tracks progress against plans.
