Qualifications

• Experience coaching/mentoring junior-level scientists.
• Knowledge of unit operations in small molecule and oligonucleotide drug substance development.
• Ability to identify and solve complex process development and scale-up problems.
• Application of modeling to complex systems, data analysis, and DOE.
• Experience with matrix environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication to influence stakeholders and team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cross-functional team of engineers and scientists in defining viable multi-step syntheses for robust manufacture of drug substance assets.
• Drive drug substance process development through laboratory development, modeling, supply preparation, and technology transfer to third-party facilities.
• Collaborate with related groups to define and optimize drug substance properties and performance across clinical development.
• Promote process modeling adoption within EMS and across Pharmaceutical Sciences; mentor junior staff.
