Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team building the next generation of tooling, automation, data, and intelligence capabilities for NBCU's video operations across Live, Linear, and VOD experiences.

You will architect and develop a centralized video intelligence platform that ingests telemetry, scheduling, monitoring, and performance data from multiple systems, enabling real-time visibility, analytics, and AI-driven operational capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience including senior/leadership roles.
• Experience leading software teams responsible for complex, production-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of modern software and distributed architectures (microservices, APIs, event-driven).
• Experience with data platforms, data lakes, or large-scale analytics."
• Knowledge of data ingestion and transformation patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming).
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming platforms and time-series data handling.
• Familiarity with API design, RESTful services, and API lifecycle management.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and managed data services.
• Observability: metrics, logs, traces, and monitoring essential.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an inclusive, high-performing engineering organization responsible for platforms, data services, APIs, integrations, automation, and tooling.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for a centralized video intelligence platform.
• Lead engineers in designing scalable systems for ingesting and processing high-volume telemetry data.
• Define architecture for real-time and historical data processing, streaming pipelines, APIs, and data lake technologies.
• Establish data quality, lineage, governance, and observability across sources.
• Drive engineering best practices across design, testing, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
• Ensure capabilities are delivered incrementally with attention to technical debt and business value.
