Job summary

Brex is building a new Travel engineering team in Seattle and seeks an Engineering Manager to own a defined part of our next-generation travel experience. You’ll recruit, lead, and mentor engineers, set direction, and ship a competitive, reliable product.

You’ll shape the team’s mandate within Travel, define boundaries, and balance customer velocity with a durable technical foundation. This role rewards leadership, collaboration, and an AI-forward mindset as you navigate a fast-growing product

Qualifications

• Proven track record of engineering leadership and scaling customer-facing products.
• Ability to make and defend product and UX tradeoffs.
• Experience coaching engineers across levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new full-stack team focused on Brex's travel experience.
• Define and sharpen the team's mandate within Travel.
• Set technical and product direction and tradeoffs.
• Ship a high-quality, competitive travel product.
• Foster a people-centered culture on a new team.
• Partner with Travel, Expenses, and Product to align scope.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to team operations.
