Job summary

ITHAKA Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Transfer Explorer team. Transfer Explorer is a growing platform to help students, school administrators, and advisors see how earned credits transfer toward a degree, built as a startup within ITHAKA Labs.

The Engineering Manager will direct the technical aspects, scale data processing pipelines, and empower engineers while collaborating with designers, researchers, and product managers to deliver a best-in-class experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of web-based software development and leadership.
• 3+ years managing and developing software engineers.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines and secure systems.
• Proven ability to scale prototypes to sustainable production.
• Strong collaboration with design, research, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Team supervision: lead engineers with goals, reviews, mentorship, and recruitment.
• Technical leadership: ensure scalable Transfer Explorer platform and best UX for users.
• Vendor/partner management: manage data integration partners and contracts.
• Project leadership: participate in leadership teams and strategic roadmapping.
• Cross-functional collaboration across design, research, and product management.
