Job summary

Apple is seeking a technically grounded engineering manager to lead a team of quality engineers. You will decide what gets tested, set test architecture, and guide infrastructure while partnering with hardware, firmware, and software teams to determine product readiness.

You will mentor engineers, define quality metrics, and drive ship decisions from prototype through launch in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in quality, test, or software engineering, with 2+ years in people management
• Experience designing test automation frameworks or infrastructure
• Experience setting test strategy for embedded firmware or system software
• Ability to review code and designs in Python and at least one of Swift, Objective-C, or C/C++

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio spanning test automation, firmware automation, and manual end-to-end testing of integrated software and hardware
• Set technical direction for test frameworks and infrastructure
• Lead architecture and design reviews, and provide engineers with feedback on code and test designs
• Partner with hardware, firmware, and software teams to define test strategy, coverage, and exit criteria
• Lead validation of shipping and exploratory hardware programs from early prototype through launch
• Hire, manage, and develop the team, including mentoring junior engineers
• Plan staffing and priorities across concurrent programs
• Define and track quality metrics and report status, risks, and ship recommendations to leadership
