Job summary

Datadog is seeking a manager to lead the Coordination Systems - Storage team in New York. You will guide a core team of engineers, shape reliability initiatives, and help scale runtime configuration and dynamic control planes.

This role blends hands-on coding with architecture leadership, incident response, and cross‑team collaboration. You will mentor engineers, drive operational excellence, and partner with product and platform teams to deliver robust storage and configuration services.

Qualifications

• Strong distributed systems skills and end-to-end observability.
• Experience on platform teams delivering internal infrastructure.
• Proven incident handling and follow-up ownership.
• Excellent cross-team collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Strong coding fundamentals with profiling and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a core team of 5 engineers (distributed, with majority in NYC).
• Lead ceremonies, prioritize and delegate projects.
• Stay hands-on with code, isolating features and investigations.
• Stay actively involved in operations, incidents, root cause analysis, etc.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence with game days and reviews.
