Job summary

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Manager IX to oversee the statewide road and bridge construction program from the MassDOT Engineering leadership team. You will supervise professionals, review bids, approve contract documents, and help set policy for construction operations across the Commonwealth.

This role requires a PE license or equivalent experience, and offers opportunities to impact safety, quality, and cost controls, with a possible hybrid work

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of full-time or equivalent experience in engineering/construction management.
• At least three years in a managerial capacity.
• Massachusetts PE license may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise on policy and procedure for construction contract management.
• Review and approve contract documentation for amendments, payments and closeout.
• Evaluate bid proposals and support funding documents and awards.

• Respond to field issues, inquiries, and provide guidance for construction operations.
