Qualifications

• Proven people leadership in modern software engineering across full product lifecycle.
• Domain knowledge in mining technology or ability to learn quickly.
• Delivery leadership using Agile and DevOps with focus on reliability and customer value.
• Experience with modern delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe).
• Strong customer orientation; ability to shape technical strategy with product/business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop engineers with clear expectations, regular feedback, performance management, and career growth plans.
• Build and sustain high-performing teams: hiring, onboarding, resource planning, and succession planning aligned to product and platform strategy.
• Own delivery outcomes across one or more teams: predictable execution, transparent reporting, and effective risk/issue management.
• Embed a culture of built-in quality through engineering excellence practices (e.g., automated testing, code review, SRE/operability, and continuous improvement).
• Define, track, and improve key engineering metrics (throughput, quality, reliability, and customer impact) and use data to drive decisions.
• Partner with Product, UX, Architecture, and integration teams to align technical roadmap, architecture, and feature delivery to customer and business strategy.
• Drive technical strategy within your area of ownership—balancing new capability delivery with platform health, scalability, security, and technical debt reduction.
• Anticipate and mitigate delivery and technical risks; resolve cross-team dependencies and remove impediments to sustained flow.
• Maintain strong technical credibility across modern product development practices (cloud, distributed systems, DevOps, security, mobile, data/analytics) to guide decision-making and coach teams.
