Job summary

NetX, part of Heritage Werks Group, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day effectiveness of its engineering organization, spanning Java, Platform, UI, QA, and Product.

This is a management-first role where senior engineers are coached, delivery rhythms established, and quality gates implemented, while the CTO focuses on strategy and architecture. You will build a high-accountability culture and mentor team leads in a remote-first environment that rewards delivery and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Substantial software-engineering experience in a commercial SaaS or enterprise software environment.
• Demonstrated success managing engineers directly, with goal setting, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Strong working knowledge of modern software-delivery practices, code review, testing, release management, and operational reliability.
• Technical credibility in software/SaaS and ability to engage with UI, QA, cloud, and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage engineering team members and team leads, across Java, Platform, SysOps, UI, QA, and Product.
• Set role expectations and measurable goals; conduct performance reviews and document feedback.
• Coach employees through performance, communication, and collaboration challenges; address concerns early.
• Own hiring, onboarding, development, succession planning, and disciplinary processes with People Operations.
• Create an environment with direct, respectful, evidence-based feedback oriented toward improvement.
