Job summary

Loop is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our newly formed Support & Stability team. You’ll own the most critical, highest-risk domains, embed measurement systems, and push for proactive fixes using AI and automation as the default approach.

You’ll mentor engineers across distributed sites and partner with product leadership to improve reliability. You’ll drive ownership boundaries, scale stability practices, and ensure timely, data-driven decisions while staying hands-on when needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management leadership experience, ideally including platform reliability or critical-domain code.
• Proactive stability or support program leadership, not just incident response.
• Ability to distinguish systemic issues and invest in permanent fixes.
• Experience using AI agents as a default part of team workflow and impact on output.
• Ability to negotiate scope and ownership boundaries with other teams.
• Technical depth to review high-risk work and stay hands-on when needed.
• Experience managing underperformance and building psychological safety.
• Strong work ethic, direct feedback style, and resilience.
• Experience with PHP/Laravel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own stewardship of the application's highest-risk, highest-impact domain areas.
• Build measurement systems to track deployment frequency, commit activity, and ticket patterns.
• Prioritize root cause fixes over volume and steer permanent solutions.
• Lead triage of engineering support tickets and route when needed.
• Champion AI adoption and review AI-generated work with rigor.
• Lead the team’s AI adoption and provide support to build skill and accountability.
• Define ownership boundaries and keep scope defensible.
• Represent team health and stability needs to leadership and product.
• Manage people with clear expectations, regular feedback, and growth investments.
• Maintain hands-on technical involvement to stay credible.
