Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineering management leader to own high-risk, high-impact domain areas, ensuring they are clean, tested, and maintainable for other teams. You will build measurement systems to expose risk and drive permanent fixes.

Lead first-line triage of engineering support tickets, promote AI-driven domain maintenance, and push your team to adopt AI as a core capability while maintaining hands-on credibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management leadership experience, ideally including ownership of platform reliability, system health, or critical-domain code.
• Experience building or running proactive stability or support programs, not just incident response.
• Ability to distinguish systemic issues from one-off problems and invest in permanent fixes.
• Experience using AI agents as part of team workflows and able to quantify impact.

Responsibilities

• Own stewardship of the application's highest-risk, highest-impact domain areas, keeping them clean, tested, and maintainable for other teams.
• Build measurement systems that reveal where risks live and use them to drive improvements.
• Prioritize root cause and permanent fixes over quick ticket closures.
• Lead first-line triage of engineering support tickets and route what you can't resolve with context.
• Promote AI-driven domain maintenance and review AI output with the rigor of code reviews.
• Lead AI adoption directly, ensuring teams have time and support to build skills and accountability.
• Develop skills, prompts, and automation to catch or fix recurring problems with AI.
• Define scope boundaries between teams and ensure stable ownership models.
• Represent team health and support trends to leadership, advocating for stability work.
• Manage people with clear expectations, high-quality 1:1s, and constructive feedback.
