Job summary

Autodesk is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing full-stack team focused on horizontal services and core technology platforms. You will balance hands-on leadership with people management, guiding architectural decisions and scalable solutions across CMS and self-service platforms.

You will mentor engineers, drive delivery and risks, and collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into reliable software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• 10+ years of total software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science, software architecture, and design principles.
• Proven experience leading teams through complex technical projects and delivering business-critical solutions.
• Strong experience designing and scaling distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with React and modern frontend ecosystems.
• Experience with CMS and modern backend stacks.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and leadership.
• Ability to partner with Product, Design, and Engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support the growth of a high-performing full-stack engineering team.
• Own project delivery, including roadmap execution, planning, risk management, and operational follow-through.
• Provide regular project status updates, metrics, progress reporting, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery bottlenecks, escalating issues to keep initiatives on track.
• Partner with Product Management, Visual Design, and engineering teams to align priorities and deliver business outcomes.
• Drive technical direction and architectural decisions for core services and platforms.
• Champion strong software engineering principles, code quality, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and scale distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Oversee the development of self-service platforms and tooling to improve developer efficiency.
