We’re looking for anEngineering Managerto lead thePayments team—a mission-critical team at Built powering how money moves across our platform. If you’re excited about scaling real-world payment systems, solving complex integration problems, and owning a roadmap that directly impacts revenue, this could be your next move.

About the team: The Payments team builds and maintains the infrastructure that moves funds between key stakeholders in the construction ecosystem—lenders, property owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.

They own the integrations and functionality that power money movement within Built’s platform and play a critical role in both product expansion and revenue growth. The team is actively expanding capabilities to support broader adoption and deliver value across a growing customer base.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coach a team of engineers
  • Drive execution of the payments roadmap in partnership with Product
  • Support high-priority company goals around scaling volume and monetizing payments
  • Drive architectural and delivery excellence
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders
  • Act as scrum master and delivery lead for the team
  • Provide regular feedback and growth opportunities for team members
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Hands-on payments experience is required—ACH, wires, money movement systems, or third-party integrations are preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and technical best practices
  • Strong communicator with experience collaborating cross-functionally
  • Experience building and scaling transactional systems is a plus
Travel Requirement:
  • For remote roles:Travel to Nashville for team events, including Connect Week, is required - typicallytwo weeks per year.
  • For Manager-level roles and above:Up to15% travel(approximately 6 weeks per year) may be required for team events and departmental collaborations.
  • For roles above Manager level:Increased travel may be required, and specific expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Exceptions:Any exceptions to travel requirements will be considered through written accommodation.

Built’s salary range for this position is $155,000 - $230,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, variable compensation, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits.
