Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking an Engineering Manager for New Product Development and R&D. Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; master's preferred.
• 7+ years in mechanical design/product development; 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience leading NPD from concept to commercialization.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, PDM, and design documentation.
• Sheet metal, weldments, enclosures, fabricated assemblies expertise.
• Understanding of DFM, DFA, and cost optimization principles.
• Hands-on with manufacturing teams; capable of prototype builds.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Drive end-to-end product development from concept to launch.
• Set project priorities, resources, and schedules aligned to objectives.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define requirements.
• Oversee design activities, prototyping, testing, and release to production.
• Lead cross-functional teams through milestones and risk assessments.
• Ensure performance, quality, regulatory, reliability, and cost targets.
• Implement DFM, DFA, and cost optimization across development.
• Drive innovation, automation, and new technology opportunities.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification.
