NetBird is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering core components of its global networking platform from our Berlin offices. You will drive execution, mentor engineers, and partner with leadership to define priorities and roadmap, while upholding high-quality standards.

The role blends people leadership with hands-on technical guidance in a fast-paced startup environment, with a hybrid model and close collaboration across Sales, Engineering, Product, and Support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with recent leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and growing engineers, including coaching, feedback, and performance management.
• Strong project ownership: experience planning, prioritizing, and delivering in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Hands-on experience with system design, performance, and reliability.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers, supporting their development through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations.
• Own team delivery by translating product and technical goals into execution plans and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Partner with the CTO and engineering to define priorities and align on roadmap and scope.
• Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure reliability and performance of systems, driving best practices in testing, observability, and incident response.
• Provide technical guidance and context for architectural and implementation decisions.
