Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing operations, drive lean initiatives, and manage cross-functional engineering and fabrication teams in a high-volume, high-mix environment.

You will oversee facility layout projects, apply Lean and Six Sigma, coach staff, partner with safety, quality, and supply chain, and ensure SQDC objectives while delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of supervising or leading projects/people with decision-making responsibilities.
• PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus; strong project management skills.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management software.
• Track record of driving Lean/Six Sigma improvements and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and lean manufacturing initiatives across a complex manufacturing environment.
• Drive End-to-End facility layout and operational transformation projects to optimize safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coach and develop high-performing engineering teams; promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with safety, quality, operations, and supply chain to align designs with SQDC objectives.
