Job summary

Hudsonville Ice Cream is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing engineering and automation across our plants. You will guide a team of engineers, define standards, drive capital projects, and improve processes to support growth.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain to deliver safe, reliable systems. The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, 3+ years in leadership, and a BS in engineering; PE or PMP and Lean Six Sigma are

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
Professional certification (PE, PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
Minimum 7 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably in food/beverage/CPG.
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams or major capital projects.
Experience leading capital projects from concept to startup/commissioning.
Experience with ERP, CMMS, and MES; familiarity with automated manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to the engineering team.
Establish engineering priorities aligned with company objectives and operations needs.
Develop technical capabilities through mentoring, training, and performance development.
Lead capital projects from concept through startup and commissioning.
Drive process improvements using Lean principles to reduce downtime and waste.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain to deliver reliable systems.
