Job summary

Clarios in Oconee, SC seeks an engineering leader to develop and implement strategies to improve quality, production, and reduce downtime and cost. This on-site role directly manages 5–6 manufacturing engineers and requires 5+ years in manufacturing leadership.

The position supports 24/7 operations, with overtime as needed, and focuses on PLC programming, process changes, and equipment upgrades to sustain manufacturing excellence at the West Union plant.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • BSEE/BSME or related engineering bachelor level degree from accredited college or university is required.
  • 5 or more years experience in manufacturing environment or a related role (preference is 8 or more).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience w/ PLC programming.

  • Develop and implement engineering and maintenance strategies to improve quality, production and reduce downtime and cost.
  • Support and develop department or projects / activities with good engineering direction. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and/or Six Sigma activities.
  • Develop, support, cost estimate, deliver and document all engineering changes.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
  • Implement process changes on existing equipment, and direct the development and installation of production expansion equipment.
  • Ensure adequate training for existing and new employees on PLC troubleshooting and making program modifications utilizing PLC software.
  • Position will require flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.

Oconee, SC- Components Plant

Our fully integrated plant in West Union, South Carolina produces all the partsthat go into batteries used in cars, boats, and heavy-duty trucks. Webegan operations in 1985 and now employ more than 300 people and operate six days per week.
