Job summary

Clarios, LLC, a leader in energy storage solutions, seeks an Engineering Manager at the Oconee, SC plant to design and execute strategies that improve quality, boost production, and reduce downtime and costs.

This onsite role directs 5-6 manufacturing engineers, oversees Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, and coordinates changes to equipment and processes, with a focus on safety and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering (BSEE/BSME) required.
• 5+ years in manufacturing environment; 8+ years preferred.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership within manufacturing.

• Develop and implement engineering and maintenance strategies to improve quality, production, reduce downtime and cost.
• Onsite 5 days a week; overtime may be required.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives and related activities.
• Develop, cost estimate, deliver and document all engineering changes.
• Train existing and new employees on PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Direct development and installation of production expansion equipment.
• Support and develop department or projects with strong engineering direction.

What you will do

• This position will develop and implement the engineering and maintenance strategies to improve quality, production and reduce downtime and cost for the plant this position will directly manage 5-6 manufacturing engineers.
• This will be onsite 5 days a week.
• Overtime will be expected if needed.
• Support and develop department or projects / activities with good engineering direction.
• Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and/or Six Sigma activities.
• Develop, support, cost estimate, deliver and document all engineering changes.
• Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
• Implement process changes on existing equipment, and direct the development and installation of production expansion equipment.
• Ensure adequate training for existing and new employees on PLC troubleshooting and making program modifications utilizing PLC software.
• Position will require flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.

What we look for

• Required Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment BSEE/BSME or related engineering bachelor level degree from accredited college or university is required.
• 5 or more years experience in manufacturing environment or a related role (preference is 8 or more).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge and experience w/ PLC programming.
• Preferred Experience with process that are in plastic injection molding, robotics, and assembly.
