Job summary

Via is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Remix team in San Francisco. You will lead a talented full-stack team building transit planning and scheduling tools that cities rely on to design smarter, more equitable transportation.

This hybrid onsite role requires 8+ years of experience, strong TypeScript/React frontend and Rails/Python backend, and a passion for mentoring engineers, improving CI/CD, and shipping reliable features at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring engineers
• Production applications experience including on-call and deployments
• Ability to make technical decisions in a data-rich domain
• Understanding of databases and performance tradeoffs

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a full-stack engineering team for Remix
• Define and drive the technical direction of the product
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and customers
• Mentor engineers and foster ownership and growth
• Improve engineering processes including CI/CD
• Coordinate with cross-Via teams for scalable infrastructure
