Job summary

The Shepherd Chemical Company, a leader in metal-based chemical solutions, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Norwood and Middletown plant teams. You will drive safe, reliable, and profitable performance, build a strong engineering organization, and guide capital investment while advancing core values.

You will collaborate across R&D, EHS–Risk Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Quality to implement sound controls and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring process

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communications required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams at Norwood and Middletown plants to drive safe, reliable, and profitable performance.
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization; mentor staff and conduct regular one-on-one discussions.
• Improve engineering processes in alignment with ISO and Responsible Care Management Systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing to set priorities and enable cross-functional execution.
• Oversee maintenance of batch sheets, SOPs, CAPA actions, and management of change processes.
• Guide capital budgeting, project execution, and provide visibility into spending against the budget.
