Job summary

OPTO is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee day-to-day engineering team activities, assign and review custom development projects, and mentor team members. The role ensures projects align with OPTO’s modular design and manufacturing methods while collaborating with multiple departments to troubleshoot and deliver cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or design.
• 8+ years of engineering or related manufacturing experience.
• Extensive knowledge of multi-materials (wood, metal, plastics, etc.).
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience creating BOMs and ERP structure.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering, estimating, and order entry.
• Collaborate with sales for client-driven custom products.
• Oversee product enhancements and expansion.
• Support new product development with standard modular design.
• Create and maintain 3-D models and drawings for production and clients.
• Interface with in-house and contract manufacturers to optimize quality and cost.
