Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an engineering leader to manage a distributed team of frontend, backend, and QA engineers within the Revenue Technology group. You will guide a sales-facing platform used by the Direct to Home team, delivering a streamlined onboarding experience that adds high value to the business.

You will hire, coach, and empower engineers, collaborate with Product, UX, and System Architects, and partner with Vivint Engineering to deliver cohesive software solutions across the ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS preferred).
• 5+ years developing software.
• 2+ years leading a software engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Coach, empower, and challenge a team of engineers and QA to grow their skills and impact as technical experts
• Leverage your technical experience to ensure your team makes sound decisions focused on quality for the customer
• Hire and retain top talent
• Be a trusted resource for technical feasibility questions from Product management and UX
• Collaborate with peer engineering managers to function as one team, delivering cohesive solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships across Vivint Engineering and lead collaboration
• Partner with System Architects to deliver products that fit into a greater Vivint software ecosystem
