Yext Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Knowledge Graph team in New York City.

You will lead a team of engineers, translate product priorities into actionable plans, and guide the architecture and delivery of scalable data-driven systems. You will foster a culture of high quality and continuous improvement, including AI-assisted development practices, while ensuring reliability and performance of critical services.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 1+ years of team or technical leadership.
• Experience coaching engineers and providing feedback.
• Experience translating priorities into technical plans.
• Ability to guide design decisions and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Sound judgment on data privacy, security, and IP.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
• Fluency with Java and Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers, providing coaching and career growth.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate priorities into actionable plans.
• Own the team's execution, establish priorities, and maintain a sustainable cadence.
• Create clarity by removing blockers and protecting engineers from churn.
• Maintain a strong technical understanding and provide guidance on architecture and design.
• Foster high engineering quality through design discussions, reviews, testing, and operational readiness.
• Ensure readiness to respond to production incidents and drive follow-up actions.
• Build an environment where engineers own their work and collaborate effectively.
• Collaborate across teams to coordinate dependencies and deliver shared initiatives.
• Recruit and hire engineers and build an effective onboarding experience.
