Job summary

gpac is seeking an Engineering Manager for a Midwest manufacturing leader in Bloomington, IL. This role provides technical and people leadership to drive engineering excellence, set standards, and ensure successful project execution.

You will collaborate with product, operations, and executives to define roadmaps, implement best practices, and enhance reliability across HVAC, heaters, chillers, pumps, and power distribution equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong technical background with ability to engage in detailed technical discussions and decisions.
• Strong knowledge in industrial equipment related to HVAC units, heaters, chillers, pumps, and power distribution units.
• SolidWorks proficiency for custom equipment and structural frame design.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6 engineers.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to spec.
• Partner with product, operations, and executive leadership to define technical roadmaps and priorities.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including code quality, testing standards, and documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, risks, and resourcing gaps.
• Drive process improvements to increase team efficiency and product reliability.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to equipment services and industrial operations.
• Direct report to the Chief Operating Officer.
• Serve a diverse range of industries across the Midwest and beyond.
