Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager II to own and grow the Observability Pipelines group. This role sits at a pivotal moment in the product lifecycle, with a focus on building leadership, guiding architecture, and scaling the organization.

You will partner with Product to shape the roadmap while aligning engineering and business outcomes. You will manage a distributed team across NYC and Paris, build leadership layers, and establish operating rhythms.

Qualifications

• Experience leading managers across distributed teams and raising the bar in operations.
• Background in distributed systems and high-throughput data infrastructure.
• Strategic partner to Product, helping set roadmaps and investments.
• Experience with on-premises or customer-installed software and operational tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the Observability Pipelines org, including EM1s across NYC and Paris.
• Build leadership layers as the org grows beyond ~20 ICs.
• Partner with Product to co-own roadmap and strategy for OP.
• Set operating rhythm: planning cadence, on-call and incident standards.
• Own cross-org relationships with SaaS Logs Pipelines, BYOC, and Vector communities.
• Coach managers and senior engineers to enable scalable growth.
