Job summary

Crossmint is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to own identity, compliance and risk as a single engineering horizontal. You will lead a player-coach team, owning the roadmap while remaining hands-on to review domain models and architectures.

Reporting to the CTO, you will collaborate with Product, Compliance, Legal, Security, and Risk Operations to translate regulatory obligations into scalable product requirements. MICA/SOC 2 experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production systems, with 2+ years managing engineers.
• Track record shipping in regulated environments (payments, banking, crypto).
• Hands-on depth in identity/auth, KYC/KYB onboarding, fraud/risk decisioning, or AML.
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language; TypeScript preferred.
• Experience designing data and domain models across clients and regimes.
• Judgment to distinguish regulatory constraints from internal habits.
• Familiarity with AI and agentic tooling in engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering horizontal for identity, compliance and risk and align roadmaps.
• Define shared services: identity/account models, onboarding, auth, screening, risk decisioning.
• Set domain models across clients, projects, jurisdictions and regulation.
• Decide what to build vs buy vs retire with evidence.
• Manage, grow, and develop a team of engineers; conduct reviews and mentoring.
• Forecast hiring needs and raise the technical bar with hires.
• Set design, testing, on-call, and incident response standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation and capacity planning.
• Review architecture and code; stay current on identity standards and AI workflows.
• Partner with Compliance/Legal to turn obligations into product requirements.
• Represent Crossmint to enterprise clients and their compliance teams.
