• Experience leading software engineers and driving migrations, re-platforming, or architectural change.
• Hands-on expertise building identity, authentication, authorization, or access-control systems at scale.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable identity systems and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Stays close to production code, reviews designs, and prototypes when needed.
• Security-minded operator focused on practical, auditable security controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Circle’s identity and access platform.
• Manage, coach, and grow a team of backend and frontend engineers and hire effectively.
• Lead technical designs, review critical code paths, and participate in incident response.
• Collaborate with Security, Product, Onboarding, Risk, and other teams that integrate with identity.
• Translate competing requests into a clear, sequenced roadmap with well-communicated trade-offs.
• Run the team’s delivery process, including planning, migrations, cutovers, and status reporting.
• Improve engineering practices and operational readiness to provide reliable platform capabilities.
