Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the High Performance Computing Section within the Modeling & Simulation Computing Department. You will guide distributed development teams, optimize modeling software for HPC clusters and cloud environments, and ensure robust, scalable solutions for defense and civil space customers.

Successful candidates will have a STEM bachelor’s, 6+ years of leadership in software, and a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required; advanced degree preferred for leadership
• 6+ years leading development teams and translating customer needs for developers
• Experience optimizing software performance across HPC, cloud, and parallel environments
• Proficiency in C++ or Python and experience with source control and collaboration tools
• Willingness to travel and hold a TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead geographically distributed development teams for HPC modeling and simulation software
• Engage with Aerospace Program Offices and U.S. Government customers to identify opportunities
• Partner with management to execute strategic vision across multiple sections
• Mentor developers on software architecture, parallel programming, and workflow integration
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
