Job summary

nTopology is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the team responsible for workload orchestration—the infrastructure that lets customers define, launch, monitor, and collect results from large-scale distributed computation jobs.

The role combines hands-on coding, system design, and people leadership in a small, senior team, with partnerships to the CTO and PM. You’ll ship integrations across on-prem and cloud environments for demanding industries.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in managing teams.
• Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience shipping into customer-managed environments (on-prem, hybrid, or air-gapped).
• Proven track record in building and leading engineering teams.
• Strong collaboration with PMs, designers, and field engineers to deliver customer value.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a small, senior engineering team focused on workload orchestration.
• Define architecture for headless execution and cloud/on-prem deployment.
• Write production code in early years and review PRs.
• Lead integrations with HEEDS, ModelCenter, PhysicsX Flux, and cloud-native services.
• Partner with Product to translate strategy into engineering plans and set milestones.
• Ensure solutions work in defense, aerospace, and industrial contexts.
