Team Overview

The Analytics Platform and Experience (APeX) team provides orchestration, compute, and data lifecycle services that enable the Netflix data warehouse and analytics platform. The Orchestration subteam builds and operates a reliable, cost‑efficient workflow orchestration platform that powers data science, engineering, and machine learning pipelines at scale.

What You Will Do

• Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape the vision, strategy, and adoption of orchestration and workflow technologies.
• Build and lead a geographically distributed team of engineers, fostering inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Drive technical strategy trade‑offs, prioritize initiatives, and influence product and platform direction across multiple critical strategies.
• Operate, scale, and evolve the orchestration platform, ensuring 99.95% availability, fast response, and short mean‑time‑to‑restore.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and leading software engineering teams, with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity.
• Proven track record delivering high‑scale, critical platform systems with 24x7 on‑call and 99.95+% availability.
• Deep technical expertise in orchestration, workflow engines, and big‑data analytics technologies (e.g., Spark, Trino/Presto, Snowflake, BigQuery). Knowledge of contemporary data lifecycle concepts is highly desirable.
• Exceptional decision‑making skills, ability to reduce ambiguity, and a disciplined approach to trade‑offs.
• Strong communication skills, comfort working with cross‑functional partners, and a bias for rapid delivery.
