Job summary

Terabase Energy is hiring an Engineering Manager to establish and lead a Test & Validation function within a hardware program. You will build and manage the team responsible for proving the product works, lasts, and complies with relevant standards— owning validation strategy, certification pathway, field operations, and integration with partners.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team in Northern California and other locations, directing test plans, lab collaborations, and field deployment

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience, with 3+ years in a people management role.
• Demonstrated experience leading test and validation programs for outdoor mechanical or electromechanical hardware.
• Working knowledge of standards relevant to outdoor utility-scale hardware, especially governing safety standards (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.).
• BS or MS in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, develop, and manage a team of engineers and technicians covering test, validation, field operations, compliance, and technical documentation
• Own the field validation strategy for prototype and early stage hardware iterations
• Define and execute test plans, acceptance criteria, and validation protocols
• Own the product certification pathway through accredited test lab partners
• Partner with the mechanical engineering team on test article preparation, design-for-test, and field deployment readiness
• Contribute to executive reporting on validation progress, certification status, and field test outcomes
